Paint Correction in Louisville, KY

Machine polishing that removes swirls and oxidation instead of hiding them.

Paint correction is machine polishing that removes a very small amount of clear coat in order to level the defects sitting in it. Swirl marks from automatic car washes, oxidation from years in the sun, buffer trails from a previous shop, and etched water spots all live in that layer. Polishing takes them out. Glaze and wax only fill them in for a few weeks.

A one-step correction uses a single polishing stage and typically recovers 60–80% of the gloss. It's the right choice for most daily drivers. A two-step correction adds a cutting stage first for heavier defects and gets closer to 90%+, and it's what we recommend under a ceramic coating on a vehicle you plan to keep.

Before any machine touches the car we measure paint depth and do a test spot. That tells us what the clear coat can safely give up and what result to promise. Some vehicles — especially repainted panels or thin factory clear — get a gentler plan, and we say so up front.
